1952 – it’s post-war Hampstead and a new school has just been built on the bomb site of the old Fleet School – Gospel Oak Primary School

Some of its first year pupils, who began their primary education way back then, now meet regularly following the school’s 50th anniversary in 2002, and their stories and memories of that time appear inside.

It’s a fascinating insight into school life of the early 1950s and it’s amazing how good, and varied, people’s memories can be!
