Ten walks take the reader through Kentish Town (east of the Overground railway line) and Dartmouth Park. Although most of the streets date from after 1830, Kentish Town developed from a roadside medieval village into a Georgian country town famed for its healthy air. It then became a Victorian industrial suburb blighted by the grime and smoke from its factories and railways.
